Lynn Lane’s new art show explores the dancer as kinetic sculpture

 

            Internationally acclaimed photographer/artist Lynn Lane's new body of work Kinetic Art are photographs created in collaboration with choreographers Andy and Dionne Noble of NobleMotion Dance, David J Deveau as the lighting artist and five of the NobleMotion Dance dancers. This body of work further explores Lynn's work as a collaborator and artist utilizing dance as a vehicle to explore human motion and beauty. Lynn’s work in the dance arena is fueled by his intense love of dance.  In addition, during the Opening Reception on June 1st, local filmmaker Cressandra Thibodeaux will premiere her short film LYNN LANE IN MOTION, which documents the creation of Lynn Lane's work for this exhibition.

            Lynn Lane, lives and creates his work in Houston, Texas. He was born and raised in Houston but prior to coming back three years ago spent roughly the last two decades living and creating in NYC. Since being back, he has been named one of the “Top 100 Creatives” in Houston by the Houston Press and has exhibited his work widely across Houston and is published regularly in national/international publications. He is also an instructor at the Houston Center for Photography. In 2012, Lynn was one of three choreographers, along with Toni Valle and Catalina Molnari, for the evening length work “ReGifting Lions” that was performed at Barnevelder Movement Arts Complex.
