Moonlight Sonata is a deeply personal memoir about a deaf boy growing up, his deaf grandfather growing old, and Beethoven the year he was blindsided by deafness and wrote his iconic sonata. Their lives weave a story about what we discover when we push beyond loss.
Filmmaker: Irene Taylor Brodsky is an Oscar-nominated, Emmy and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker whose first feature documentary, Hear and Now, won the Audience Award at Sundance in 2007, a Peabody Award and numerous Jury and Audience Awards around the world. She recently created a sequel, Moonlight Sonata: Deafness in Three Movements, which had its world premiere at Sundance 2019 and will premiere on HBO this year.
