The Bechdel Film Festival is proud to present 11 amazing animated and experimental short films all directed by talented female directors.

Le Clitoris, directed by Lori Malepart-Traversy (3 minutes, 17 seconds)
Women are lucky, they get to have the only organ in the human body dedicated exclusively for pleasure: the clitoris! In this humorous and instructive animated documentary, find out its unrecognized anatomy and its unknown herstory.

Sparky Ketchup,
directed by Lori Malepart-Traversy (1 minutes, 47 seconds)
An animated documentary about a memorable event: in spring 1997, a coloring contest is launched for the release of a new variety of ketchup.

Three Fitted Fleas,
directed by Elisa Morais and Maria Alvarez (7 minutes, 47 seconds)
Scorching summer in the village. Prying neighbours, mourning rituals, tediousness and undertones of guilt make a perfect soil for madness. The old woman will try to bring her late husband back by means of twisted rituals.

To Be Fiona
, by Angela Vaut (4 minutes, 42 seconds)
Fiona received a surpised visit from her younger version of herself, who wanted to grow up and get rid of her childhood "problems."

Summer Story, by Yana Ugrekhelidze (11 minutes)
A surreal photo collage of greed and war, descending on a girl's childhood like a bombshell.  

Tough, by Jennifer Zheng (4 minutes, 49 seconds)
Some things can only be understood with maturity.  New Light is shed on childhood cultural misunderstandings when a Chinese mother and her British born daughter speak as adults for the first time.

Threshold, directed by Misha Penton (7 minutes, 52 seconds)
An experimental music film by Misha Penton.Threshold began as a live performance event and is loosely inspired by the Homeric Hymn to Demeter (c. seventh century BCE) which tells a mother-daughter passion play of abduction, loss, and renewal. Ceremonial rites enacting the myth were held in Greece for a thousand years before the rise of Christianity, and artists, then and now, freely interpret the story. 

Prysia's Garden
, directed by Lida Suchy (10 minutes, 45 seconds)
A quiet rumination on exile, photography and transplanting roots, this short tells the story of two women: an aging refugee, ad a photographer/daughter of refugees.

Journey Birds, an animated documentary directed by Daphna Awadish.  (9 minutes, 8 seconds)
Personal stories fuse together as man and bird in a cinematic commentary on immigration.

Little Red Giant, by Laura Harrison (13 minutes, 50 seconds)
An unhinged artist goes berserk at an academic's barbecue

The Lingerie Show, by Laura Harrison (8 minutes, 14 seconds)
The drug addict in love with her bisexual boyfriend, throws a 'lingerie show' (essentially a drug fueled orgy) to seduce her boyfriend, who ODs. A story about addiction, loss and a new start.
