About the movie: Third Ward Blues (1996) is a romp through Houston’s juke joints and saloons in search of the blues. The film features blues musicians Albert “Avacado” Collins, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Johnny Clyde Copeland and Joe “Guitar” Hughes. These artists learned to play blues guitar in Houston’s Third Ward, where they grew up within three blocks of each other. The film also features blues performer “Sonny Boy” Terry Jerome.
