ABOUT FILMMAKER - RAY HYLENSKI: Starting in the mid-70s as an independent filmmaker in Michigan, Ray has produced and directed films around the world. From international award winning “America in Motion” on GMC truck salesmen, to “Petroline,” the dedication film for the East-West crude oil pipeline across Saudi Arabia. He later attended and screened the film in Yanbu for King Fahd and other Saudi dignitaries. He along with his partner, Barbara Faber, formed Third Coast Advertising, a full service ad agency and video production company in the mid-80s. From automotive films to the commercial and retail world, he and Barbara continued to produce award-winning commercials and advertising campaigns in Texas. They began collecting Texas artists – thanks in large part to joining Looking at Art - and followed their careers by producing over a half dozen documentaries on local artists like HJ Bott, Lee Littlefield, Dixie Friend Gay and now, Ed Wilson. Next up on Ray’s agenda is taking his original play, “Born On the Island,” about a struggling mother and daughter running a bait camp in Galveston, to the screen.
