14 Pews is excited to announce a new 8-week WRITING WORKSHOP which starts May 12, 2018. The class will meet once a week, ending with a staged reading of the first 10 pages of each screenplay or play - read by professional actors. We&amp;#039;ll invite the audience and actors to provide feedback, which can be invaluable to a writer.

LOVE & BANANAS is a heartwarming and hopeful story about a team of elephant rescuers, led by world renowned Asian elephant conservationist Lek Chailert, as they embark on a daring 48-hour mission 500 miles across Thailand to rescue a 70-year old captive blind Asian elephant and bring her to freedom. This is a touching story that exposes the plight of Asian elephants and the people who work tirelessly to save them. This will play well to audiences of all ages, school groups, animal lovers, environmentalists, and animal rights activists.

14 Pews Film Academy makes films on Houston artists, while teaching the art of filmmaking. This summer we will be teaching a filmmaking workshop to teens. And we are ecstatic that the completed documentaries will have their World Premiere at the Houston Cinema Arts Festival.
