ABOUT FILM: In October 2006 a four-year-old from Corpus Christi named Andrew Burd died mysteriously of salt poisoning. His foster mother, Hannah Overton, was charged with capital murder, vilified from all quarters, and sent to prison for life. But was this churchgoing young woman a vicious child killer? Or had the tragedy claimed its second victim?
ABOUT FILMMAKERS: Jenna and Anthony Jackson are a sister/brother team, and co-directed Until Proven Innocent, their second documentary. Together they run P+R Productions, LLC based in Houston, Texas. Jenna is an Emmy award-winning television producer, and Anthony is an award-winning filmmaker.
ABOUT JOHN RALEY: John was given a 2013 Presidential Citation by the Texas State Bar in recognition of his seven year pro bono fight in state and federal courts for DNA testing in order to exonerate Michael Morton, an innocent man who served 25 years in prison. The resultant landmark Michael Morton Act requires prosecutors to provide defense counsel free access to investigation information.
John was named 2013 “Houstonian of the Year” by the Houston Chronicle. In 2014, the Brazos County Bar gave him their annual “Atticus Finch Award.” John received the 2015 Houston Bar Association President’s Award for Pro Bono Service. He volunteers generously with local community theatres and Chapelwood United Methodist Church.
