This event was made possible through partial funding from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Saturday Dec 3
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us for a screening of 3-minute interviews recorded by Bill Howze and Lynn Herbert in 1993 in the studios of: David McGee, Nic Nicosia, Greg Reuter, Bill Thomas, Toby Topek, Anne Wallace, Casey Williams, Helen Altman, Jesse Amado, Tré Arenz, The Art Guys, Eric Avery, Patricia Ruiz Bayon, Thomas Glassford, Kelli Scott Kelley.
A number of the artists will be present.

Professor Cynthia Freeland, author of But Is It Art?, CAMH Senior Curator Valerie Cassel Oliver will facilitate a post-screening discussion.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS:
From 1978 to 1998, Bill Howze produced video programs for art museums on subjects ranging from 16th century Japanese sculpture to the dye transfer photography process and interviews with artists and curators. It was exciting work and would have been much easier with a smartphone.

In 1993, Lynn Herbert was Interim Co-Director of CAMH and curator of the exhibition Texas Between Two Worlds, for which the videos interviews were recorded.

14 Pews and William Howze are grateful to Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, for providing partial funding to support this event. In addition, we are extremely thankful with our collaboration of CAMH.
